Renaissance designer Giorgio di Sant' Angelo left a career in architecture in Europe and found his place in the American fashion industry in the late 1960s, designing ready-to-wear, accessories, furs and hairpieces. He would win his first Coty Award for his inventive accessories in 1968. For his fall 1973 ready-to-wear collection advance, Giorgio di Sant' Angelo continued his successful take on romantic feminism with this delicate fishnet hairpiece photographed on a model in front of the Plaza at 59th Street and Fifth Avenue in New York on April 25, 1973.
